A Huge Hello from The Art of Succulents

A Huge Hello from The Art of Succulents

I thought a good place to start with the Art of Succulent blog would be to give an insight into what we're about and what plans and ideas we have in the pipeline.

The Art of Succulents has evolved from a few influences in my life.

1). My passion for design. I'm a professional product designer.

2). My Dad's passion for anything cacti and succulent related. He's been keeping cacti for over 50 years and is well respected in his field. As a result I have been surrounded by these amazing plants throughout my whole life (yes I did sit on a cactus when I was a toddler and yes it hurts!). Now my kids are runung the cacti gauntlet too whenever we visit ;)

3). A frustration in the lack of imagination and product variety available for displaying plants. Don't get me wrong, there are some crazy and truly imaginative ideas out there (just check out Pinterest) but when it comes to actually purchasing something original, you'll often find yourself stuck with a choice of different colour pots and that's about it.

From here, the basis for The Art of Succulents was formed.... beautiful design with living plants.
The Art of Succulents terrariums and planters
We're starting by offering a range of beautiful terrarium kits and indoor planter designs, all available in our online terrarium kit store and have many ideas in the pipeline as we gradually grow.
I don't want to give too much away just yet, but come spring 2017, you can expect to see some new products from us including living wall succulent planters, upcycled wall clock planters and even a living coffee table.

As I referenced my Dad's cacti collection earlier, it would be rude not to give him a little shout out, so here's a link to the old man's website, please take a look, there's loads of great advice for cacti fans: http://cactusplant.co.uk/

My old man as a boy and now(ish) + a few plants from his collection.
